white rims

hi all...i recently bought some white rims and they look phat agianst the black color of my ride....my question is this:is there anything i can put on them that will keep them in the nice shiny white color that they are now....i dont want them to start fading or something...does anyone out there have white rims-does the white paint start chipping or fading/?????-tony

You can probaly put some wax on them OR if you think you have the skill a good coat of clear coat(if it doesnt already have it). You can buy the high temp clear at Discount for around $4.00.

Are the rims powder coated? If not they will probably eventually chip from the slightest touch. I bought my rims already cheaply spray painted white...paint chips pretty easy.

How can i tell if the rims are powder coated or not....and the rims are 17s...slidinek......peace

I have had some powder coated 16inch White DTMs for a year now and all I do is wax them every few months to remove the funky coloring for the dirt and brake dust. Powder coated wheels dont chip as easily and painted wheels do in my opion.

If you have wheels that are painted white and clear coated you may have more problems. The clear coat can sometimes change color from the wheel getting so hot.

Wax should clean them up.

Next time get bronze less cleaning required. Thats my plan.
