Default traction bar question....

ok so i have a set of JimFab traction bars on my EF hatch, well my question is, what is the proper way to adjust them to get the best "performance" out of them?

i took the car and had the alignment done, but everything was just set to factory specs. so is this the proper way for "performance" purposes?

thanx in advance for any info or advice...

If you "Pre-Load" the Lower control arm slightly it's supposed to prevent the wheel-hop . It makes sure you don't get lower control arm deflection under hard acceleration .

Basically if it isn't wheel hoping you should be fine . If it is your going to want to turn them untill it "pre-loads" the lower control arm with tension .

Keep in mind for daily driving your no actually supposed to have the "torsion bars" part of the traction bars connected to the lower control arms

You have to be careflu when you adjust the bars it effects toe so it all needs to be done at once. A good alignment shop that does performance alignments can help you. You want to pull the lower control arm towards the front of the car for drag racing giving you positive caster, negative caster for road racing/autocross.

one thing to keep in mind. I'm not completely sure where the jim fab bar fastenes to the lower control arm but my fullrace bar attaches where the strut fork meets the lower control arm. The rubber bushing in my lower arm was rotting and that allowed the lower arm to move independently from the torsion rod negating its effect. Inspection of your control arm bushing is a good thing.

Yeah bushings need to be in order for them to work well.

the JimFab mounts to the stock location. uses the factory bolt holes and bolts.... its made of chromoly, and has the adj. heim(sp?) joints for adjustment.
