Default f20b accord coupe in the uk

Firstly just like to say, I think im gonna like this site. Loads more info and more active than any other Honda forum I have seen so far.

Down to biz.

According to the chassis plate on my car I have an F20B3 engine. Which runs 137bhp stock, 0-60 8.2 secs. Not as fast as some of the cars I have had previously, notably my old slightly modded Alfa 33 P4 cloverleaf (1.7 boxer, c/r box + 4wd), which ran 160bhp 0-60 4.9 secs. A real cossie/scooby/evo eater.

Neway Im after a shed load more power, I also want to boost n spray it. Do you guys think it would be better to do a swap or could I just use the h22 head (with a little modding). I meantioned the head because I read the article about the G23 frankestein engine build but am not sure whether this would be a good thing. Your advice would help a great deal as I know next to nothing about Honda engine types.

Im not after a race car or a street racer, Im building a full on multimedia car including carputer w/ 7.1 surround sound, air suspension and custom fibreglass dash, door panels, centre console, leather retrim etc. As you can tell this car is going on a full fat eat everything diet so is gonna but on a shed load of weight and needs loads more power to get it around.

What would you recommend to acheive 300-350bhp or as close as possible.

Thanks in advance

David

Welcome aboard. The only practical way to get to 300+ with your engine is forced induction. In the U.S. no one really bothers with these engines much because of the lack of aftermarket support, opting instead to use dohc vtec motors for modification.
But even the case of these more powerful motors, 350 hp is achieved via superchargers or turbocharging unless you are a naturally aspirated maniac willing to spend big dollars and time, something that would definitely get in the way of your show-car priorities.

Ok thanks.

Yeah I have kinda notice little support for the engine around, although I presume things that fit the f22b would fit the f20b? Im kinda confused with the whole engine codes being the same but different.

I was really tempted to go for a turbo anyway. With a budget of around £2000 (roughly $4000) for the engine work alone I am sure that I could atleast double what I already have. I am most likely going to have to import everything from the US as there is even less aftermarket support over here.

Would you suggest a turbo kit or piecing on together?

Your right I do plan on building a show car style Accord although I do not plan on entering it into shows as it is a dd for me.

Thanks

David
