Question How difficult is it to replace a hood release cable?

91 Crx, can't open my hood anymore without 2 people. I've already got a new cable from Honda to put in, but not sure how difficult this will be or if it's easy as pie. Your thoughts, please.

IMO, not that difficult. Just follow the same route as your old one.

It may not be your cable at all, you may need adjustment on the latch (that bolds to the center-support). Its adjustable............unlesssss.........u have aftermarket crap like a cheap CF hood that the latch is way off (95% it is) or has been wreck in the past and never wasn't align correctly. Its actually common on CR-Xs the older they get, own a handful in the past to know it just need adjustment! Same goes w/ the squeaky trunk.

The cable is a pain the ass, btw......sorry

Thanks for the info. The cable actually poked me where it meets the lever under the dash, so I know it's breaking. Regardless if that's the only problem, it needs to be replaced. It's been mentioned to me that it may take a few hours, if not more...so I'm not looking forward to this one

Or if you cant lift the car and remove the wheel you can take the fender off, its like 6 bolts, very easy..the cable is attached to the subframe in there. Then to get the actual hood latch loose its 5 bolts, 4 up top around the radiator and should be a long piece that runs down the front of the radiator (may not be) and bolts down there with one.
