Question on LS and GSR Block..?

Default Question on LS and GSR Block..?

I have an 01 GSR and was wondering if it was worth building the GSR Block or building a LS Block im basicly trying to build a all motor and trying to Reach around 200whp also trying to use as much OEM part as posible Thanks any info will help..

either built will work fine..ls will have more tq

sell the gsr bottom end ad buy a cheap ls bottom and build it then you will have lil extra money to play with

ls v is fun but if you dont build it right its going to blow
i have one is great if you take care

Use the ls crank and rods in the gsr block. The 89mm crank is much better for NA, no need for oil lines and you have the crank girdle. The only mod you need to do to the block is with some ls cranks the counterweights hit the oil squirter bolt and you have to shave the bolt down a little.

+1 the 89 mm crank in a gsr block will save you having to get new oil lines and itl give u the extra tq of an ls.

....u can take care of a motor all u want, but if its not built right itl still blow...i think thats what he meant.

only need to mill number 1 and 4 oilJet BUT make sure you dont grind it down to where you cant get the 10mm bolt over it if you need some i have a box of ones i have all ready grinded for when i do this
