I cant figure out what would cause this. The car starts up fine and it runs good but sometimes at idle it shuts off. Then the check engine light comes on and the car never does it again. But right when I turn off the car and restart it again the check engine light turns off and it drives good for a while then it kick back on but it goes away as soon as I turn the car off. I was told that it could be the main relay starting to go bad has anyone ever had this problem. It is just weird when the light comes on it performs better then when it is off. Its fucking crazy I cant figure what will cause it to do that. Please any info soon trying to fix her up to sell trying to get a truck.

 

i had a similar problem in my 91 integra, it was the main relay. but if the CEL comes on you should check to see what code its throwing. that will better tell you what the problem is...
