im having yet another problem with my dohc zc it has a vacum advance distributer and just out of the blue yesterday night i went to fire it up and it was surging at idle and if you hold it at a constant rpm it will start spittin and spudderin, does this sound like a distributer cap/rotor problem or something more serious, i pulled off some plug wires and there were a couple when i pulled off the engine noise didnt change.

 

sounds like a mis fire. check the cap n rotor. also, if ur tach is bouncy it could b ur ignitor.

 

checked everything, looked pretty beat up, there was only 2 bolts holding the dizzy on and theres supposed to be 3, and a lil oil was in the cap sooooo i replaced the gasket, found a bolt and got new plugs/rotor/cap.... advanced auto had to order the cap though so we will see what happens tomorrow......

 

fixed everything and it still runs like shit, wtf could be wrong with it it will rev up and sound real good and power full but if you try to hold a steady rpm it spitts and spudders and it wont idle?? this is my daily driver

 

today was a lil wierd and confusing for my when i took off a couple vacum lines the car smoked alot but idled ok, so i drove it up to the pavement and beat the hell out of it (i was a little pissed) pulling to like 7500 every gear and then once the car was hot and idleing i turned it off and put all the vacum lines back on, then proceeding beating on it, and i rubbed it out or something cause it was idleing fine with no spuddering at all, do you think it could be bad gas, i have to run 93 cause of compression reasons and i had to put some 92 in it from pilot cause thats the highest they had, but they were adding 2 pumps at the time maybe i just got some shit gas, and once the car is hot it is burning it ok????

 

i drained the gas and put in some fresh high octane with some nos octane booster and a fuel injection cleaner and it is still running the same, when it gets hot it runs fine but till then it wont ide and spuders, and i filled up the 8 gallon fuel cell and drove it about a half hour up s.r. 200 and when i got back my fuel cell was EMPTY!!!! what sensor could be making it dump that much gas
