Are you looking at building on a budget or is money available?

You can use some OEM pistons and get some GOOD compression numbers from the D series. Combine that with a quality intake manifold, a good cam, like one from ZEX or AKME and you can have a fun car. I have built tons of D series here locally for guys and they are fun motors, most of them make more TQ than B16s do(and no i am not including LS and gsRs in that statement, only B16s)

Look on the net for a combo kit, alot of them have everything all the way down to the gaskets as a complete kit. i know Nippon makes piston sets for them, also look up P29 pistons

p29's in a d15b7 will not give you a decent compression bump
if your doing a mini use the y8 head your b7 dizzy will bolt right up to it
use the y8 head gasket as well
rods for the d15b7 are expensive as fook and one place is finally making some rods for the jdm d15b for a decent price
if you take the d15b7 throw the y8 head on it and then take out the middle layer for a y8 head gasket you get a cr of 11:1
bisimoto makes some good regrinds but the crower stage 2 is a really nice cam as well that is not a regrind and brian himself has said a few times you dont need to upgrade the valvetrain if you keep the stock rev limit but it is def recommended incase of a miss shift or if you beat on it alot its always better to be safe than sorry
