Default troubleshooting engine problem

Well today I finally got a chance to trouble shoot why my car has shut off twice while driving. First off after it happened the first time a shop told me it needed a new dizzy so I paid them to do it and it shut off again mid drive a second time a week or so after I got it back.

Today. I went threw checking the belt, checking the fuses, checking the new dizzy, switched out ecu's, made sure I am getting fuel, everything is good but I am not getting any spark.

So I researched it a bit and came up with this and wondering if this really could be the problem. I have a jdm b16a(2) and is it correct that this motor does'nt come with crank sensor? and if so could doing the "splice trick" I see on honda-tech.com be the fix for it?

Here is a link to what I am talking about.
