i have a 90 ef stock d15 nonvtech i need help please i was driving today not beating on it or ne thing nd it started to like hesitate like it was gunna run outta gas so i pulled over and it shut off i tryed to start it up and it just cranks and than makes like a "puff" noise from the airbox like just air it seems like its about to start then it makes that air noise nd nothing i didnt want to burn up my starter so i went and got some gas poured it in and the same thing so i just parked it, the only thing i could think of is that its either my distributor or my main relay lmk what you guys think and or no any sugestions? any help would be greatly apriciated could you Please Email me or pm me

check the rotor button in the distributor. the screw that holds it in place tends to come loose often. also check your timing belt, and main relay(it should "click" twice when you turn the key on. theres alot of things it could be, but i would check those first....

 

pull your distributor cap and check your rotor. the screw on that rotor was notorious for creeping out at the worse possible time. if its missing, just get a new rotor and use a little thread locker when you put the screw in.

 

may have jumped timing if you hear that puff puff noise from the airbox.

 

thanx for all the help guys it wuz that stupid ass screw it came lose and fell off the rotor so i picked up a new rotor nd screw for like 6 bucks and it started right up
