Default Another new question...

I figured out why the car (93 Civic w/b18a1)died on me yesterday. I put $10 in gas in it, drove it about 35-40 miles and it died on the way home. I thought there was plenty of gas... I took out the fuel pump today to check the strainer, etc and the tank was just about dry!
The car has shitty exhaust, there isn't an O2 sensor in the header and I don't have an air sensor in my intake. Could 1 of those things or a combo of all of them cause that kind of gas mileage? If the timing is off a tad, would it cause or add to the problem? I bought this car to try to save on gas instead of driving my Ranger. Looks like I have to figure out some MORE things to get this thing running good enough to save me gas money.

Thanks for your help!!

i dont think any of those problems, even all combined would cause that bad of mileage... i would be looking for a fuel leak somewhere.....

i had a 1994 toyota 4runner and when i changed engines i forgot to run the wires down for the o2 sensor, it got shittay gas milage because of it, i was told the o2 sensor tells the engine how much gas to mix with air

Okay, I just crawled under it and there is NO 02 sensor! There isn't anywhere for it to go either. I don't know what exhaust is on there, it looks stock though.
Where is the 02 sensor suppose to go? When I go get one, do I say for the b18a1 engine?
My buddy has a b16 and his is in the exhaust manifold.
