Default Insain High Fuel Pressure

I have a B18C with a walbro 255lph, stock FPR, my B&M gauge is reading 85PSI. I know this is not normal, what steps should i do to take care of this.

Edit: BTW, I unplugged the vacuume line and it stays at the same psi. I also tried to crimp the return line and no difference, im at work so i cant disconnect it to see if fuel is even coming out

Is the gauge reading while it is running or just with the key to on with the fuel pump primed?

it should never be that high running or primed. just adjust it down to about 40-45 psi. use the appropriate wrech size to loosen the lock nut then with a plier (careful not to round up the adjuster) turn till the said pressure is met.

when the pump is primed it reads exactly at 40psi, engine on 85psi. This is a brand new gauge btw.

W/ The 255 pump you will have to mod the B&M regulator to get fuel psi down to a useable level. Buy an AEM regulator and you will be able to set the PSI to a useable level w/out riging it up.

wouldn't crimping the return line result in higher pressure?
