Quick question about Brake pads and spacing!

Quick question about Brake pads and spacing!

Hit a pothole and bent both 17" rims on the right side of my car. Trying to install some 14" CRX SI rims/tires. They fit ok, but the problem comes in with the front brake pads...there is NO clearance. The inside of the rims actually start rubbing on the pads, and other than that they fit fine!
Can metal washers be used as spacers to get the rims away from the pads? This would space them out enough to be able to use them.
LMK! I need to get back on the road TODAY.

Actually biggnick, your brake caliper is rubbing the rim... So, you can do one of the following...
1. If you have a grinder, you can grind down the caliper so it doesnt rub. (I wouldnt recommend it if youre an amateur!)
2. Go to an auto parts store and buy wheel spacers for $7.99 a piece!

Washers don't have enough bearing surface. It is a lot better if you use real wheel spacers.
It won't take much grinding/polishing in the right place to get
the caliper clearance. If you need help, get back with me.-Bob
