Default question about slicks....

ok so i have an all motor EF
i have a B16 tranny
what would be an ideal size slick to run at the track in the 1/4th VS. 1/8th mile?

i dont wanna go to big and lose anything, but i dont wanna go to small and run outta gear either....

thanx for any info....

i havent ran the car at the track yet, but hopefully will be thurs. on DR's....

22*8*13 would be ideal for all motor. I have used 205*50*14 drag radial at the track. The hook good, could have done Better with them but was having some issues. These was the bf goodrich g forces. A common brand of slicks that people use are mh roadmasters. Good luck....

ok, cause i have access to 20x7x13's for the 1/8th mile
and possibly have access to 24x8 but just wondering if it was too much tire im running 205/50/14 nittos right now, well see how they do. but i know slicks will bring the 60' down and in turn make better ET's

those 24x8's are gonna be way to big man, try the radials and take the 20x7's with you and swap them out after a few passes

yeah 24x8 are like turbo car slicks. either 22x8x13 or 22x7x13 would be good.
22 is how tall the tire is.
8 is how wide the tire is or contact patch.
13 is the size rim\wheel the tire is made for.

yea 22's would be ideal, but if you can only get ahold of some 20's, i say give it a shot and see what happens

what ever you do i would not advise to upgrade axles, I would rather break a 80$ axle with lifetime warranty then a 300$ tranny with nothing.
