Im new to the Honda world and I just got a 97 civic ex. So, i have been looking around and reading up on this. Is it worth it to spend the money to build up my d series or just swap a b series in. At this point I can go either way. What are the pros and cons of each? Let me know what you think?

 

This is a heavily covered topic, if you searched you could find numerous threads on it.

It is all preference. The D series is more than capable of making power that wont keep the tires glued to the ground. It takes more building than a b series. Depending on your power goal in the end. The higher the power goal the more you should lean toward b series.

 

I know I shouldnt expect much out of a all motor d series, but is 170hp out of the question?

 

that goal its easy to get, a turbo and a good tune plus a few other things like exhaust should put you there but i guess that everything its about money, with money you can built a 10 sec Geo metro...........lol, keep looking around the setup that other ppl have and how much they pulling out, g/l.

 

If NA is your weapon of choice then go B or K series. If your considering turbo and have modest goals keep the D.
