Ok so with work and all I really haven't had the time tosit and troubleshoot a lot so I ask for help. I was driving down the highway and all of a sudden the car shut off and the battery light kicked on. No check engine light or codes. So I got the battery checked the alt checked and the fuses checked. All good. So I decide to pull the plugs and the first one I pulled has oil all in it. I hope I didn't blow rings cause my ls isn't ready to be dropped in yet and I need a car. The car turns ove but doesn't catch. So I think my next step is the ignitor

 

when you pulled the spark plug wire was there oil all over that, or was it just all over the tip of the spark plug???

 

It was on the socket so I think maby its the spark plug valve cover gaskets are shot like I said with retail work right now I'm super busy. But I know with those gaskets being so old. I will look into that when I get home. Correct me if I'm wrong but something like that is an easy culprit as to why she wouldn't start.

 

there is a slim cahnce it could be that but i would also check to see if your spark plugs are getting spark, it could be your dizzy or you need new spark plugs

 

maybe distributor went bad, also, check the main relay under the steering column. theres a very good chance theres something simple. check all your grounds. (valve cover ground,tranny ground,etc)

hey man there have been alot of guys on here in honda acura tech with alot of threads.. me being one of them your dizzy went bad ie your internal igniter . so just buy a new dizzy and youll be straigjht ... this is the like 6th car in the last two weeks .. i think all the old dizzys are going bad because of the real quick change in the temp .... but im pretty sure it is your dizzy my car just shut off and died it was the dizzy ..... replaceit and youll be fine

 

+1 honda dist suck.. iv rplaced about 4 in 4 different cars in a week

 

If they are so bad why are people running 500whp+ still using factory ingition system. It's either just old or it burnt out. Honda distributors are great, just a part that will go bad eventually.
