Default motor questions

ok its a b16 motor. the machine shop hone the block and also it has a stock bore.we put the motor together and got the new piston ring from je and reuse the piston.its a JE piston 9 to 1 compression. the top ring its been gap to 19 inch and it fits pretty good and the second ring is not gap because when i put the feeler gauge its a little bet loose even 23 fits and it should be 21 inch so we did not file the second ring. we just put it on even its a little bet off.now

the problem is this the car start but shut off right away so ok i put a new spark plugs in it and drove the car and it was fine and suddenly the shut off again
so i check the compression and this is number 1#135 2#150 3#145 4#140 and its really low. now that because the second ring is bigger gap than 21 inch and its leaking out. one more question can you check a compression just after you put the motor together or you have to wait after you put a miles on the motor.

well its a b16 so your compression will be low,not sure on thos numbers tho.but yes you can check your compression right after the build its not going to change much.i would say check your timing and make sure everyhting is pluged up right

as long as gasket is same thickness compression shouldnt change. between gaskets, the lower ring being .023 isnt going to affect anything it will be fine. I use oem gaskets if possible, if not then cometic.
