Cigarette Lighter not working?? Help please

I was wondering why my cigarette lighter doesnt work. it hasn't worked for a while and I dont think it worked when i got the car. I need it for my radar detector. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong with it? Thanks

Start with fuses and then pull the panel off to see if wire is contected

there are 2 black wires and a white wire with blue line on it.. the black wires are hooked up but i dont know where the white wire goes

exactly!! check fuses first right under the steering column to the left under the dash. pull the cover, find out which fuse it is and check it. if its good then just pop out the lighter and make sure the wires are connected.

There should be a place on the back of the lighter for it look carefully

You should just hardwire the radar and hide the wires.
