why do these local shops charge so much for a "dyno day"?
I'm sorry you feel that way. I dont own the shop but I am sure it's to do with difference in overhead, employee wages, etc. We always have free food on-hand, an hd camera, tv's inside in the a/c with the dyno screen, etc. as well

I understand you are not the owner of the shop I was only stating my own opinion on the subject since this thread really isnt actually a list or official post for a specific dyno day! Its merely a thread to gather feedback since you posted asking who would be interested in the subject and I think its a waste of money (for the some).

My .02 on the subject. Most of these shops charge $80-$120 bux an hour (dyno cost, not including tuner fee) during tuning. $65 dollars really isnt that great of a deal when, NO TUNING can be done! (minor adjustments is not tuning) I rather save my money and have my car dynoed and tuned at the same time! Pay the few extra bux, bring your own tuner. Have the car dynoed tuned you get your print out and your good to go until next build!

And IMO if I am going to a dyno I am not going because they have free food and nice tv's!

I'd be down with it as long as I can get the day off to do it...can't be anytime close to christmas. Would we get printouts too and would I have time to at least play with fuel pressure?

I hear you. Input is always good

If we have time I don't mind tuning or having someone bring their tuner to spend a half hour to an hour on the dyno. They would have to be further down on the list or when the techs take lunch

I know most people dont come for free food, etc. It's nice to have the option to eat, drink, sit down in the a/c, etc. though
