d16a1 dohc head question

Default d16a1 dohc head question

i got a d16a1 head off a friend came off the acura intgera 88-89 will it fit a 2000 honda civic block d16y8 i think thats wat it is non vtec with the throttle body facing up...and another question will d series parts fit the head like valves...valve springs exst manifold ect thanks

how do you figure that isnt it a d series block d16a1 and anything d series is compatible with any d series part i think yr wrong man

well here i found this for you.

The DOHC head will go onto the 88+ SOHC block, but you've gotta "drag" one of the head bolt/stud mounting holes over in the DOHC head. The cheapest way to verify what I'm talking about is to get ahold of a D16A1 head gasket and any 88+ SOHC D head gasket. You'll see what I'm talking about.

thats why i said simple answer no, not worth it

and the d-series interchangeability only lies with the 88-00 engines

the d17's are a completely different story

nope. not gonna work, and if it does it wont be right. and yes all interchangeability applys to 88 and up d series.

the reason i said this was bc i took the old head gasket off the 89 head and i have a d16y7 i think its out of the civic hatch 2000 and they match up but yr telling me that one head bolt is diff jst making sure i understand so i dont know why it wouldn't work....i jst want to make sure before i pull my head off
