Default quick question about map sensor for boost

One of my friends is the neighboring town that is not a member on TR wanted to me ask a question for him. He has a civic with a b16 in it and he is in the middle of his turbo project and he had a quick question about the map sensor.

this is the map sensor that he bought.

eBay Motors: 2.5 Bar Motorola Map Sensor D16 B18 B20 H22 Honda Acura (item 140174567223 end time Nov-08-07 05:36:03 PST)

he wanted to know exactly what this was for and if he needs it.

eBay Motors: OBX MAP SENSOR CHECK VALVE LINK 92-00 Civic Del Sol D16 (item 260176740439 end time Nov-05-07 22:22:58 PST)

no, he doesnt need the second one. That is a oldschool way to trick the stock map sensor. Since he is using the 2.5 bar he wont need to even have a stock one.

Concerning hooking it up. If your engine computer is not properly tuned to read the map sensor's signal, using that sensor won't work.

Default map sensor

go with 3 bar map sensor Xenocron

p28 chip or s300 hondata there other options around

how much boost you are going to run?
your stock map sensor is good up to 7psi or 10psi
