Maybe you don't have the correct battery for your vehicle ?

ya there is a spacific battery size that you need and a regular size battery will not fit properly without using a relocation kit

If a battery is too big for the stock platform, I make a wider/longer platform and bolt it to the stock location.

When a battery is too small for the platform, I make a spacer to put beside it to take up the slack...usually moving the battery more toward the middle of the car.-Bob

To simplify removal/installation and keep the battery firmly anchored, some people use a tight rubber strap, with modified s-hooks. Faster batt swaps than with a threaded rod.....

There is not an optima red top designed for crx's...they do however make a yellow top specifically for a crx.

My yellow top fits just right in a custom bracket in the back of my Crx.
