Ne1 Got An Engine Lift??
thats how i do it also. i have done it both ways though. so it can be done and some people prefer doing it from the bottom. when i swap engines at my shop, i just unbolt everything and then lift the car and leave the engine sitting there. but without a car lift, i prefer dropping it in from the top. just seems easier to me.

i helped my buddy do a swap in he dirt not too long ago and he actually had an engine lift but we couldnt get it to move around in the dirt with the engine attached to it. we ended up just taking it out and putting it back in from underneath. if i were you, i would def look into getting a huge sheet of thick plywood to roll the lift around on. even if you buy it brand new, they are not that much and will make your job a whole hell of a lot easier.
