ok well i got a 90 honda prelude 2.0si 5spd and it just dont wana fire up and the starter spinds but sounds like is spining faster than the motor and just cant get the motor to spin fast enought to fire off but i thought if u can get a motor to turn over then it should fire right up..?could it be the alt..? fule somthing

 

check for spark.. check the cap,rotor, plugs.. does it act like it wants to start?

 

yea man the motor turns over and all that but not like try trying to start it kinda seems like theres no spark or fuel lol i didnt check the guy i got it from said he was going to the bucks game and the car just died while he was driving and wouldnt start he told me the satrted was bad and it is not the starter so i think fuel or spark cuz it turns over but no pputput from the motor trying to fire so must be fuel or spark like u said ill check th caps rotor and fuel pump and lines

 

you should hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key if that dont work i would check the main relay.. those are prone to go out on the older cars.. if you do hear it the just check the spark

 

check the spark plugs or fuel by smelling. Neal Taught me that one

Or you can do it the messy way and pull an injector.
This way you can eliminate one of the problems and move on.

Do the spark plug test and remove one of the spark plugs and plug it into the plug wire and turn it over. I think you need like a screw driver near it to conduct....

 

yea i took the main coil wire off and did the screw driver trick and i couldnt see anything from the driver seat lol no arch or nuthin so im beting the coil but ima check it all just to be safe

 

ok well the coils not giving a spark so i know why the motors not firing up lol but now i need to know why the coils got no juice....is there anything tha would make the coils not work..like a sensor that controls the coils or the computer or somthing like that i mean could it be somthing eles or is it the coil cuz i dont wanna buy a coil and it be some sensor that controls the coil or the computer lol so let me know what it could be I AM NOT GETING SPARK FOM THE COIL

honda coils are notorious for going to shit. That or ive had bad luck, id say a good 40% of the problems for swaps not starting is the coil, I suggest you go to a junk yard and pull one, but thats cuase i have $0

but definitly get a new one.
