I heard the crazyist shit today my friend told me that lht detunes there motors so they dont blow how the fuck could they do this other than ignition timeing please write me iam allmost scared to get my new swap there

Its totally possible with cam timing ignition timing but you know what...I REALLY DOUBT IT. Hey just to dispel the rumors why dont you call up John and ask him. Hes a very straight up guy that does beautiful work. I dont think they would go detuning motors if you went in there looking for high HP numbers. Now if you asked them to Im sure they WOULD but thats a different story.

 

while his swaps usually dont run the fastest times in the world I seriously doubt he is detuning them.


Maybe he is just getting some of those 3 piston motors from Spec R tunning and now that Spec R is gone he has to find someone who makes engines run with only 2 pistons. HAHAHAH

im not saying he detunes the motor but he does offer a 1 year warrantey on the motor he sells so detuning sound like a way to make sure they dont blow. oh and he does do nice work expensive but nice.

John detunes his higher hp motors this is true. He detunes them slightly so they are not running on the verge of detonation or fuel starvation. This is a common practice otherwise youd see guys running around on 23 degrees ignition advance on 11:1 CR motors on pump gas blowing bits out left and right! Nothing to worry about...
