4 or 5 pounds of boost wouldn`t require much upgrade the kit should come with a boost dependant regulator.Anything beyond 5 psi you should get fuel pumpright timingetc. Lag is common on turbo just high rev it and drop the hammer !

another ex turbo person... Why even try? You will not get the performance that you desire. Im not trying to be mean but putting a turbo on an EX and running 4-5psi you will still get beat by a 99-00 si with a Matrix cai and Brospeed Farttip.

Couldnt you spend your money a better way?

Hmmm I disagree. First off why dis on him? Hes already spent the money. Second I built a 97 EX with a Rev Hard turbo pulling 6lbs and it ran a 14.50 on street tires - traction limited. Most Sis I know cant even break into the 14s n/a let alone run a 14.49 with an intake and fart tip.

Everyones bangin the poor little D16Y8...
In actuality adside from not being able to tune the overlap properties its a very good engine. Beef up the internals a bit and you have a nice low compression engine ready to be turboed. If you want to see what a lot of hard work can do to a SOHC Vtec motor check out http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/F...2924/cars.html

When I first started to contemplate putting a Turbo on my civic I decided to ask other Turbo Civic owners what they thought. I couldnt very many that were happy. Most complained that the Turbo did not perform as well as they had expected. I started thinking about doin something else until somebody pointed out that everybody I talked too had Ex civics. I decided to try it for myself. I absolutely love it but then I have a Hybrid.

I have just talked to way too many dissapointed EX owners who wish they hadnt gone turbo. and 4-5 pounds? Lets not kid each other. BOOST IS ADDICTIVE. I should know.

Dont whine man its all in good fun. Look above and some people gave answers to your questions.

What turbo are you running anyways? The Civic Ex kits are usually pretty tame so I dont see why youd have a lag issue...or at least not a major one.

True 4 or 5 psi wont do much. Im running 10-12 psi and spank Type R Si all day long. my motor is all stock except the aid of a thick metal head gasket. My best time is 14.5 with no traction what so ever maybe i`ll get some slicks and break in the 13`s someday.
