Does anyone knows what is the stock compression of a 93 civic?. I did the compression test and I got 205 psi with 138000 miles.

??
Usually when you do a compression test you do it across all cylinders. Your number 205 is it for all cylinders or did you just do one? Also 205 for any cylinder on a 93 civic seems kinda high.

205 is very good compression. But what you want to do is check all four cylinders. Most likely they will all be a little different (+or- a few points). What you need to check for is whether one cylinder is significantly less than any of the others. If all cylinders check out to about 205 you are in very good shape especially with 138k miles.

205 is good yes but kinda high on a 93 civic. With 138k on oddometer though I guess the carbon build up has added in pushing the compression up a bit.

Hey KJ how are you enjoying your LS/Vtec?

youll also want to make sure the motor is hot. If you do a compression test while the motor is cold you will get abnormally high readings.

Thanks for all your input. I delay in reply becasue I could not find the paper that I have with the numbers for the compression test. This is how I did the test
The car was warm I took all four wires and did the test in all four cylinders. As a mater of fact I did two runs. These were the results.

1st try
200 207 205 200 avarage 203

2nd try
205 202 202 195 average 201

Also I found no oil around the spark plugs which I belives is indication that the rings are doing thier job.
As far as carbon built up I dont think I have a lot. I have done recently a complete induction system clean up(injectors etc) at a honda dealer. In additon they cleaned part of the throtle body.
Alos I notice that my car does not smoke at all (high/low rpm).
I personally belives the car is in good shape thanks to the help of mobil 1 and prolong.
Let me know your thoughs. Once again thanks for your input.
