Its the most ridiculous thing Ive ever seen. It places the air filter where contamination is very high their way to stop water entry is idiotic and the piping...have you seen the piping length on that sucker? Oh...and lets not even get into the price for that piece of shit. Basically its appealing to a load of ricers who wish they could afford a turbo but still want the look...if you can call that filter the look. And as for a ram-air effect if that was the case there would be some type of cowl to catch the air instead of a filter there to disperse it over the area. Bleh just believe that its a piece of shit and youll be fine.

 

shit for that money your gonna waste on that thing you might as well waste it on the fake front mount intercooler so you look turbo charged

FMIS doesnt even work if you think about it logically.. THe piping is so huge and so long that the air cant even travel that far i would say to stick with a AEM or Iceman

 

Air cant travel that far?? Sorry man but I gotta remind you about atmospheric pressure. There is no vaccum inside the FMIS so therefore the pressure of the air (atmospheric pressure) causes the entire tubing to be filled. There are no spots where air is not present. What the tubing length does do though is cause the air to travel a greater distance to arrive at the intake manifold which isnt exactly wonderful for top-end.

 

so bill how many fmis have you seen on a car in person and if you have seen one in person what was the dyno drop in horsepower over a cold air intake. get a car with an aem and find someone with a fmis and dyno it.

Ive only seen one and that was up at NOPI (god I will never go to that again...). As for the dyno graphs Ive seen two comparison dyno charts with the FMIS vs. AEM short and CAI and both times it came in lower. This was a while ago mind you so who knows. I figured that the company just went out of business until this thread jogged the ol memory. But if you insist on getting on dont let my opinion stop you...hell you can paint your car with yellow mustard if you want but in both cases your decision will suck.

 

They do have a really funny ad in superstreet tho at least is was the first tme I looked at it. Yeha buy the fake intercooler and I saw a link to an electroninc siren that sounded like a BOV.
