Alright yo heres the deal Every once in a while When cold my 93 honda civic ex doesnt want to leave first gear and it holds the gear weeeelll until limiter if I dont catch it earlier. Now I notice that it doesnt want to get out of first gear when Im lightly accelerating. When I let off it winds down like Ive got it literally in first or second. I dont know what the hell is the deal but I dont like it and since the auto to maunal swap aint happenin any time soon how about a new tranny or hell a used tranny auto preferable. Prices installation. Should I pick this up at a junk yard? I dont know if anybody can help me Im assuming John is gpnna field this one anyways.

I dont know much about auto trans but have you checked tranny fluid and filter?

Hey 93ex automatics Ive never been too fond of but I know a little. Usually the transmission system is set up using an internal clutch (is there any other type?) system. Im willing to bet that the clutch on first gear isnt releasing. Now why this is happening Ive no clue. Id suggest saving up ALOT of money and just gettin it repaired at a decent shop. Everyone loves to charge an arm and a leg for tranny work.

Tranny fluid looks like ass but thats getting changed as soon as I can get ahold of some time.

Ahh the perks of my dad owning a tranmission parts shop. Ill ask around to his clients and see what they can do for me. BTW if anybody wants a drag tranny he can do that exccept by strip I mean Strip it chrips em and breaks your neck in traffick very similar to a honda.

 

Its changed form everyonce in a while to everytime thge car is cold. Progessive at least. I tried sitting idling for about 5 minutes but that didnt do anyhting. Im suspecting the total lack of fluid change for the last 130k has a lot to do with it. Tuesday my transmission lovin dad is gonna heook me up with a free change and a computer diagnostic. Well thanks to Kja nd bill. And John I suppose for making fun of my transmission.

 

Damn it to hell! My tranny is dead. Arrgh! now its mia/doa in my dads shop. Seeing how we dont have an extra one lying aroudn its gonnabe a while. Thes bastards are small...and apparenly fragile. bent fork fucked soelnoids. Bad to freaking worse! Piss on it!
