Has anyone heard of Fidanza? They make aluminum flywheels for cars...and more recently for the Focus. Ive been looking everywhere to find a lightened flywheel for the Focus as well as a Centerforce clutch. Any feedback on this company?

Also...has anyone here had any experience whatsoever with Clutch Master clutches?

Thanks

Shouldnt this go in Ford Tech? Not that it matters....Nevermind...

Fidanza flywheels are very good reasonably priced and the Honda guys are loving them. Most of the Honda apps weigh about 7lbs.

Clutchmaster clutches are also very good. Two things are key with those clutches

A) Choose the right stage for your ACTUAL intended use

B) Proper installation and break in.

Hope that helps!

Id put it in Ford tech...but no one every looks down there. Also the fact that you guys have more experience with FWD vehicles and that the parts I asked about are more common on Hondas than they are on Mustangs or Camaros.
Thanks for the help...Ill probably stick with the street clutch since that seems like the more sensible approach.

John...would you guys at SpecR be able to do a clutch and flywheel install on my car?

At any rate however you get it in there I recommend it. After driving Craigs Focus I definately feel the car could use a nice light flywheel. The factory one must be stinking heavy!

No kidding. You can put the pedal to the floor and it takes forever for the car to increase RPMs. It might not add any hp...but it sure will make me feel better about driving the car. Plus it will help with any future performance mods such as a turbo or whatever.

How much would it cost to rent a lift? Or how much is the install?

If we touched your car I would want your brother to be there. I would prefer if you could just talk him into doing it for you and using our space and tools. If that is the case we can work out something nice.

We havent ever dropped a Focus trans and although Craig probably hasnt either ... uhmph hes your brother AND our friend so it makes things that much easier. We could do it on the side after hours you know? Make a night of it.

Shoot me and email: DCpretty@aol.com

Yes and I have to agree after driving the Focus 300+ miles and dealing with the 112lb flywheel Id have to get a lightened one too. After taking it through the gears ONCE I knew the thing had potential but I didnt stop complaining about the flywheel for at least 10 mins!

Sounds like a party. Make sure you invite Mr Helms Manual along so that the operation goes smoothly. Dont forget to buy the hardware replacements either.
