best direct bolt on swap is the 1.6L DOHC ZC engine its a complete bolt on it will even bolt to your stock tranny and you can get the engine for about $395-450...its got 130hp perfect engine to go with a small turbo.
the next one I suggest is the 1st gen B16A its not a bolt on you need to custom make your mounts or buy them from Hasport place racing...etc
some people have had hood clearance problems so I suggest you use the ZC hood it gives a little bit more clearance. The next would be the B18B/A then the B18C1/5 and finally the H22A which I completely not recommend anyone to do this swap unless you like big headaches and spending extra cash...take care

i have helped with a zc swap and even though it being a pain in the ass it was a direct swap and makes his crx move pretty damn good best way is to keep the crx si tranny and just re-do a few wires and thats it your in like flin.

isnt there a stroker kit for the b16 and also for the b18? wonder if that with some wild cams would give me some good #s. is there any way to get low end grunt out of the b16 or b18 N/A without losing too much top end?

which is more cost effective and bang for the buck-turbo or jrsc?

Well if you want the ability to make serious power your BEST choice would be a B18C. Remember there is no replacement for displacement so why go with a 1.6 if you can go with a 1.8 I beliee the only thing you need is a mount kit. Try HASPORT Give John at Spec-R a call (910-7235) He can tell you all the specifics... and may be able to track a swap down for you.
