check engine light need help

Default check engine light need help

i have a check engine light on on my 94 civic how do get it to flash me a code.then how do i find out what the code is .thanks randy

I'm fairly certain that you jump the service connector thats by the passenger kick panel and then put the key to acc. and the check engine light will flash telling you what code...long flash is 10 short flashes are 1 so one long flash followed quickly by 4 short flashes is code 14.

Yep, and if the OP doesn't know what "jump" means, it's just completing the circuit, so use a paperclip or a small wire to connect the pins in the plug.

is the service connector just a 2 pin plug that i run a wire from one to the other then watch the check engine light?

yes, make sure the ing.switch is atleast turned on. DOn't have to start the car. Just watch it while you have service connector jumped.
