Default Overheating while driving, cool when stoppped?

This is about as odd as can be, thought it was the t-stat, nope, new radiator, nope.. seems like the water isn't flowing, when I have the cap off and rev it, the water just rises, insted of flows... Any ideas as to what it could be?

Next time your out driving around and it's overheating put your heat on blast and see if that helps lower your temp.

Did it, and it didn't help..

I'm thinking I'm just gonna take the bottom radiator hose off tomorrow after a friends funeral and spray a hose into the rad. and kinda "flush" it.

Also, the car has an electric fan, maybe it's blowing the wrong way?

Yeah the way I flush mine out and it alwasy does a good job is to disconnect both rad hoses and start the car and put a hose in the top hose and just let the pump cycle clean water through there. YOu've got to take out your thermo though. Then re-connect your hoses with out the thermo in and see if that keeps it down. If that works try a new thermostat. Thats what I would start with.

Hmm after re-reading that get her warmed up and run a compression test! If compression checks out I'd say replace the water pump.

that was going to be my answer the fans backwards thats why it would get hot while driving because it would be forceing the hot air right onto the radiator...like said above the airshould be pulled in so if your hand is behind the fan you should feel it.. other then that make sure your ENGINE ground wires are on..a bad tranny ground or head ground will cause the temp to shoot up very fast
