96 Prelude--H22 or LT1 swap?
prelude bodies do not "unbolt" it is a unibody car, alot of cutting, torching, plasma if you have it. it is going to be wayyy more than 3000. or you can just pay 1000 and have a nice h22 with money left to bolt on some goodies.
when i read that he was trying to unbolt the chassis i about fell off my chair.
Now u can put a LS1 in a prelude. Guy on honda tech did it, just never finished. Ran out of money and time, he sold the car for someone else to finish.
Heres the post

but as far as a realistic swap goes, get the H22 and build that. Mahle makes drop in pistons now that don't require you to sleeve the block in order to crank out some nice power. Spend your left over money on that.
I know a guy selling a h22 for 400 bucks, just needs to be reassembled. Perfect opportunity to send the block to United Speed World, they know how to bore and hone a FRM sleeved block. Get Mahle Pistons and some Eagle rods (or whatever rod you prefer) and boost it or run alotta nitrous

Don't take life so serious. It's not like were getting out of it alive anyway.

you'd be better off using an S10/S15 frame. much more readily available. this is probably the easier route to go if you are left with converting the car to RWD aswell, as everything is there and ready to go and saves you enormous amounts of time. like previously mentioned, it will not be as simple as just unbolting the frame from the chassis.

Mahle is the company that makes them, its their Gold Series that are designed for FRM bores. Porsche has been using them for ages as they as well share the FRM liners.
For the past few months people havent trusted them much because only a few people have got them to work without damage. After having built a motor with the mahle pistons i think i know why most people dont get them to work. Just follow the data sheet that comes with the pistons to the tee and you will be fine.
