Default Valve seals??

K, the car smokes blue, at idle it puffs a little out, and at WOT it's a little worse..

I'm thinking its the valve seals but I'm not sure, is there any other ways to tell?

BTW - it's a GSR with CTR pistons, if that matters..

Only thing i can think of is check plugs, and compression test. It might not be the seals, so do process of elimination.

Check plugs, for oil on the bottom?

Also, say I run a compression test, the motor should be at 275psi or so, if it's the valve seals it wouldn't affect the compression?

It could be a chance that you have fried rings. Are all 4 plugs soaked in oil? Compression test should also be performed with WOT.

I'm gonna run a compression test one day after work to see, but if the compression is good across all 4, it's the valve seals, correct?

Please elaborate on what you mean by performing a compression test with WOT? Are you saying that a compression test should be performed at Wide Open Throttle?? I would hope not seeing as this is impossible. Weak...bad valve seals would cause a loss of compression. Does the car missfire at all??

later

When you crank the car over to perform the test mash on the gas at WOT.

gotcha...I don't see how this is going to alter the output of the compression test though.

I did one test w/o opening thottle and it read 200 psi, with WOT it jumped to 240 psi, WOT is the right way to do it.
