Default Should I Switch Back To An OEM Clutch? That's The Question..

Hello. First I will start with a little backround. I recently bought a 99 civic Si. It is basically stock with just I/H/E. When I bought the car it already had an Exedy Organic Racing clutch. I dont really no what stage or anything like that though. My car is extremely hard to drive smoothly. It's always jumpy and it's just not very smooth. It's also not that I can't drive stick, It's just the I think the clutch is overkill. Today, I drove my friends 96 Civic EX with an OEM clutch. His car was a pleasure to drive. Extremely easy, and I loved it. This made me think about going back to OEM.

The question is.. Is there any cons about switching back to OEM? I mean, my car is basically stock with just I/H/E (it's a b16a2 BTW). What major differences willl I see? Please give me your opinions on this. This car is a Daily Driver and I never ever track it. I drive it hard once in while. Will I see a difference in the engagement? Will it slip more?

Thanks guys.

Shouldn't slip any with an oem clutch. I have been using a oem clucth in my ls tranny for about 20,000 and still don't have any problems with it unless I run it hard a few times back to back.

I/H/E is fine on an OEM clutch. If this is your daily driver, and your not planning to do anything else to your car, I would think you should go back OEM.

maybe you have a unsprung clutch in there. if you plan to do more to the car do some research on clutches and stages that they offer also clutchmasters is pretty good. stock like feel with lots of grab. (depending on what stage you have)

get a oem. if u leave it I/H/E. exedy makes OEM replacements. bc u probably have a stage 2 or higher unsprung whichs is way overkill. i have a stage 1 act and it feels like my stock did.

How do I know exactly what kind of clutch I have? How do I know if it's unsprung? Is there anyway to tell without having to take the tranny off?

Also would you guys reccomend an Exedy OEM replacement clutch, or should I just go Honda OEM. I found the exedy for $129.00 shipped here.

Exedy OEM Replacement Clutch Kit :: OE Clutches :: Clutch/Transmission :: Import Replacement Parts

Oh and also how much would it be to have my Exedy Organic Racing clutch switched with an OEM clutch, (if I provide the parts)? How much do you think I can sell my current clutch for? It is almost brand new.

Thanks.
