another axle question

another axle question
so im stuck with my axle about half way into the half shaft, im just wondering if there is a easy way to get it to go the rest of the way. ive been fighting it for an hour or so and im done for the night but want to get started in the morning....any i deas?

i threw ice water on it cause i heard that would shrink the shaft but still nothing.... seriously any help or should i just spend another hour trying to fight it in there.

are you trying to get the little clip at the end to snap in? all i do it grab it and pull out then slam it in until it snaps. kinda like spankin it with both hands except one big slam and it should snap right in.
