Fuel pump doesn't turn on when it is hot outside
I've been having a problem with my 93 Del Sol SI whenever it is hot outside. If it is too hot under the hood, the fuel pump just doesn't turn on (I can hear it turn on again after it has cooled off). I haven't been able to locate the problem because by the time I put the hood up and get the volt meter out, it has cooled off and then it starts. The fuel pump never turns off once it's running.
Anyone have this problem or know what it might be? I was thinking it might be a fuse that's only slightly cracked or a bad connection somewhere, but I would think that it would kill the car once it heats up again when it's running.

check or replace the main relay, or if your car has one the fuel pump relay. I had the same problem with my civic, replacing the main relay fixed the problem. relays are very sensitive to heat and humidity when they get old. NAPA should have them.
what happens is one of the solders on your main relay is old and is pulling away from the connection when it is hot, seems to be more of a problem on EFs but seems to have made its way to the EG chassis as well
