Default (0)(0) Is it bad to rev the engine high if it's not completely warmed up? (0)(0)

Okay well I have a 1999 black honda civic Si. It is basically stock. I just got the car a month ago. My question is.. Is it bad to rev the motor high (like 4-7k rpms), if the motor is not completely warmed up? What damage can it do if any? Sometimes I don't have time to wait so I just go right away. Is it bad to hit Vtec if it's not completely warmed up?

How much time is usually needed when reving high? Sometimes I just let the temperature guage go to right under the halfway point. (which is usually the highest it goes). Is this okay?

Thank you.

typically ud want to have oil pressure built up..which im not sure how long it takes to warm up etc..but i wouldnt stomp it before it was warmed up...normally on my set up if the car isnt warmed up vtec wont engage and itll redline at 7k instead of 8200...

the temp guage should be about mid..and that is fine..

^ I second that!

Only takes 1-2 minutes for the car to reach a safe temp. Just wait it out and give it some time before you start beating on it. Will save you alot of money waiting a minute instead of wondering hwo your going to afford a new motor!

tru. wait a couple of minutes to warm it up. not only doesnt vtec kick in when its cold, u run the risk of a spun rod bearing, which goes back to driving your car with out the correct oil pressure

maybe my car is weird or something, but when my car is cold, the oil press. is up.. Im pretty sure my Autometer gauge wouldnt lie... I typically wait till my oil psi gauge reads 20-25 at idle before getting on it...

If you can, at least let it warm for a minimum of 30 seconds

In the owners man of a Honda, it says in there that there is no warm up time for this car.

But I would anyway.
