for those of you guys who have a afertmarket water temp guage what does yours normally reads? mine as of late reads 210 . looked for leaks "water spots" do not see none cheked for damaged hoses also seen none. no this is summe and car will run hotter but just tad bit worried. bled the system and got just a minimum of air bubbles out. rad does not leak and is oem for a 91 hatch. cap is good also. Want to upgrade my cooling systm and was thinking of getting a spoon sports thermostat and fan switch, both are to start working more quickly than stock. later would like to upgrade to a full size fluidyne rad. thanks for any input or advice... keeping the EF alive!!! oh by the way my guage is a phantom series 2 1\16 guage. on cool nights it reads 180 and stays there and on regularly warm florida days the line after that which i think is a 15 degree difference. so i know the guage is working.

 

Try running the fan constant in the summer. This can be done by just jumping the fan switch. Also are you running both fans or just the one?

 

210 isnt anything to even worry about. if you are get your coolant system flushed professionally. youd be suprised at the amount of shit that builds up in your water jackets and settles out in every elbow restricting the flow of water and it dont hold that much to begin with so the slower its moving the less heat is leaving with it.

 

i am just running the one fan, was looking at some slim fans but would need something 1.5" in depth or less. would look into the constant running fan option.

 

Look into the slim fans they sell on Hondatech for turbo cars. They are very thin and work well. About $60 each for 12" fans.

 

this guy on here was selling a 12" one but never gave me the full specs on it.

 

My aftermarket ga. reads 190-195. I use both constant fans.

they are about 2.5" thick at the motor. i have both a 12" and a 10" that i got from the two main guys selling them, b18bturbo and infinite auto.

 

If 2.5" thick won't fit in front Ian we can run them behind the radiator as a pusher since you don't have an ac condenser.

 

my zc runs around 200, 210 is when the cooling fan kicks on so thats pretty much normal, my pg7 ecu doesnt go to full redline until about 190 so i say your pretty much normal, anything higher than 210 and your overheating
