Default 2nd Gear issues help!

Sometimes going slow in second gear it pops out of gear after letting off the gas. Sometimes when shifting into second from 1st it feels like it goes in but when I left out the clutch it grinds. Also sitting still putting in second and letting out the clutch it will just grind and not move from a stop at all. Any ideas? Do I just need a new second gear? synco?

Check the price on a synchro set for 2nd gear. When you take the tranny case apart, you should be able to see which parts have wear marks.

If you want someone to give an opinion, once it's apart, my second opinions are free.-Bob

Thanks..I have the helms manual and I am mechanically inclined. should taking the tranny apart be pretty easy to do? I don't expect it to be a breeze but easy enough to figure out what they are talking about? Trannys are the one thing I have never touched.

Then clean the casing really well before opening it up, and
take your time. Maybe show us some pics as you progress.-Bob
