Default Gearing?

does shorter gearing cause a loss in the high end? it would make sense to think so, but im really just curious if the acceleration advantages would compensate for any high band power loss; ie - final drive. help?

i basically just wanted you to send me a PM giving me a price on each of them. i'm a poor student who just graduated high school, so don't hold you breath, haha! anyway, is the loss worth the acceleration gain? is there a way to balance the equation out a little bit? maybe buy a more aggresive cam for high end power?

ok, this all just kinda clicked, so tell me if im wrong. yes i will lose high end speed, but not high end power. basically, my powerband will be more in the higher range due to climbing rpms so quickly, i just trade in my top out speed. so, instead of 140, it would be like 120 or something?

yes it is worth the loss, you will still be able to go 120+ mph, which is plenty fast enough.. If you have a gsr you do have best of both worlds, gsr has decently close gears and ok top end (comparing to the ls and b16/type r trannys). If I had the money I would have a b16/type R in my car, closest gearing ftw!
