You can't just say, run +3% fuel at x rpm for your setup without seeing a air/fuel output using a wideband oxygen sensor.
The controller is useless without a wideband.
Btw, setting vtec early won't make you additional power, you can actually loose power.

its not set too early i was able to figure that part out at the track
my stock p28 turns it on at 5800 its set at 5000 now that was where my best time was at
ive tried it at all the rpm settings and ive found that 5000 rpm was the best i just cant get the fuel part down
so what is the deal with the wideband
is that just at tuning or is it something i have to buy
i do have an air/fuel guage

A wideband oxygen sensor is a sensor which allows you to monitor parts air to fuel. Most people have the preconception that a basic autometer air/fuel guage using the stock oxygen sensor in their vehicle will give them all the information they need about being in a lean or rich condition. This information is false, the factory narrowband oxygen sensor will not provide you with an accurate reading because the oxygen sensor is a narrowband sensor which does not have a wide enough of a range to accurately sense air/fuel mixtures needed to properly tune a vehicle. The purchase of a wideband oxygen sensor is not required due to the fact that almost every tuner provides one with his services etc.

If you are going boost, you should consider selling the vtec controller & getting your self a management solution, you will probably want to convert to obd1 at that point.
