vtec silonid question????

Default vtec silonid question????

i have a sohc z6 motor i was told if i put a obd1 gsr vtec silonid on it, it would crack vtec better. b4 i go out and buy one i wanna know if it will really work? and does it leak oil or is it a direct fit? i know the gaskets are the same.

i know i was just wondering i was told it make vtec crack louder. i wanted to do it to see if that really works

single cam vtecs dont "crack" and I'm not sure if what you are attempting to do is actually possible but good luck with that

i dont think it will make a difference in the sound of vtec 1 because ive never heard of a single cam having loud vtec and 2 because vtec's sound has to do with the motor and what it does when vtec opens up........ but i culd be wrong its been awhile

Mostly the noise your hear ("vtec crack") is the change over in the cam lobes. 1) Single cams only have one cam so its not going to sound if any at all. 2) Depending on your head design and how air and exhuast gases flow you will hear a louder changer over of vtec. B16 heads are usually the loudest!
