Breakin up in vtec

Default Breakin up in vtec

i have a 91 si with b16a3, pwo ecu chip 4800 vtec 8600 rev. vtec kicks in perfect in 1st and 2nd and pulls hard. but when i get on it in 3rd and vtec engages it starts to break up bad and its causin me to lose power. does anyone have suggestions on what it could be.

im not sure if this is your prob but i had a lsvtec swap and it did the same thing...when i came around to look under the hood my vtec solenoid was cracked...replaced it and never did it again.

Try and clean the screen in the vtec solenoid.

I would say, upgrade your fuel pump. I have seen that problem before, after trying a walboro fuel pump, problem solved. I'm not saying that's the problem, but it help.

check your oil also, and +1 on the fuel pump upgrade
