This is now officially my home. Honda tech, I got the car tonight and I am fairly satisfied. I will post pics up tomorrow after work so everyone can tell me what they think. I do have one question. When we turned the car on, it was idling and after a minute or so, I heard a loud clank clank clank, sounded like it was coming from the transmission. Could this be that 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear that are shot? if not then what is this noise? help=rep.

more info would help us identify the noise.does it constantly do the clanking noise?did you pop the hood and identify where it came from?

from my experiences with hondas it could be a shot rod bearing.I've never heard of a tranny making a clanking noise unless the gears are really fucked up.

and the first thing you should do to the car after you get the new tranny and whatever else you need to get it running right.get an alarm.no sense in dropping 3k into the car just to have it taken in 10 minutes at 3am.I've had two hondas stolen from me.one a 97 ek hatch with gsr swap itr tranny fully built head.and a 94 cx hatch with perfect compression 00 gsr swap.both stripped down to the shell.

but g/l and if you have any questions just pm me.

Ok well as far as that sound yes it was coming from the tranny and yes from what the previous owner said there is basically no 3rd 4th or 5th gears. I was also told that this is the sound of the gears turning over at idle. it only clanks 3 times so thats why I was thinking that this sound could be the bad gears. I will try to post up a sound clip or something as soon as I can

The picture of the motor says d15b7 which is a DX motor. Read your VIN number to see exactly which chasis it is.

I have a z6 trans for you.
