I would just buy the bearing and put it in.No knowing what condition those other trannys are in.

JDMaccord and civicized both present a good case.

I would replace the release/throwout bearing. (cheapest)
If that doesn't stop the noise, maybe it really is
the input shaft bearing. (costs more)

You can test the input shaft bearing by rotating the input shaft
by hand when you separate the motor/trans for r/t-o bearing replacement. If bad you might be able to hear/feel it.

Test the throwout/release bearing by rotating also, at the same time.

When you go after the car, take a tow strap just in case.-Bob

i had the same problem with my tranny it is the input shaft bearing, i just bought a different transmission and had it installed

If you want the mainshaft bearing installed lmk. I have the tools and knowledge to do it.

That bearing will run about $40 at the dealership.
