heres your answer as said before. no it will not hurt the tranny. just the axles. if lowered improperly, you can damage bushing and ball joints along with the axles in time.

outkasted i got your drift..makes more sense that way....i dont see the pointin cutting springs...ive seen some horrible things that way...just retarded....ive used mostly lowering springs...and twice coilovers ive used h&r,tanabe, neuspeed, ground control and egay(worst decision ever) and shocks from bilstein to kyb...and i love the way most of them can keep a good ride when used in conjuction good struts/shocks!

I stand by what I said earlier, and there's a whole lot that other posters don't know. They also don't know that I have the ability to measure
spring rates, and most sellers of springs won't even tell you what their spring rates are.

...............and since I INSTALL aftermarket springs for people,
in addition to LOWERING cars with OEM springs, and being able to align cars, I am blessed with doing a good job for people who understand both sides of the issue, while saving all of them money.-Bob

I don't plan to close my mind to believe there is only one solution to any problem..............and if I were a better/faster typist, I might be willing to
go point by point with an opposing point of view.-Bob

My first Honda was automatic, and dropped. Made no difference. My present car is manual trans and lowered using OEM springs. Made no difference.

The key to lowering a car is the way a person measures things.
I know how to measure it, calculate the drop, and lower it using stock springs and stock adjusters without destroying shocks, trannys, or anything else.

Too many people don't know what they are doing, and slam a car below the suspension travel, beat up the shocks and the body, eat the tires, and THAT leads to a bad rap -Bob

If Spring Cutting was a good technique for lowering a car, Don't you think everyone would be doing it?
If Cutting Springs were safe, Don't you think there would be a slew of others like you that lend their services and have special tools to measure correctly & cut springs?

Let's Put it this way.... If your truly cheap and don't care about handling, safety, a hellish ride, and/or reliability...........Be my guest, Cut Those Springs ASAP and keep arguing with all of those other Auto-Xers, Professional Race Car Drivers/Rally guys, and about 95% of Members on Honda-Tech.com: Main Forum List , www.autocrossforum.com , www.autoxforum.com , Solo2.org - Ultimate Autocross , And any other performance vehicle forum out there.

Thanks, But I'll stick to Professionally Engineered lowering springs on all of my vehicles
I just don't see why You would Invest/Pay Thousands of dollars for your car and all of the performance parts installed on it.....But then Skimp on something so important like springs,................You know.....Those things that give the car a stance, Ride comfort, and flat out all drivability.

To Each His/Her Own......................

Have a good day!

Anyway..................Back On Topic.....................................

No, There is no written risk with lowering a car that is driven by an Automatic vs. a standard transmission.
