there is a thread everyday about vtec not kicking hard enough. strange.

check your oil level, grounding, and see if its wired properly, making sure there is no loose connection

 

I Have Had This Vtec Wired By A Honda Genius For Most Part And Another Great Machinc Nothing Is Working Plenty Of Oil The Oil Pump Is Fine

I Wish I Knew What To Do To Get It To Hit Hard And All The Time

im sorry to say vtec in a b16 isn't very powerful anyway. might just be your imagination.

 

Hes right VTEC in a B16 doesnt hit all that hard but it is one of the loudests!

If you are certain its not hitting as hard as it should. Try testing the solenoid if its really working. Connect the positive wire from the soleniod to a constant power source and you should hear a click from the solenoid if its working properly.

You could also try running high beam vtec which is connecting that power wire from the soleniod to your high beams so when you flip you high beams on... WAM! its VTEC time! Lol.

This is what alot of people do when the first swap a vtec motor into a non vtec car and need to run a race before they had time to wire up the solenoid
(Sort of a cheap riged up sollution, but will get the job done for the time)
