I don't feel safe in my CRX's without a cage.

street driven cars do not need a roll cage. there are five things you need to be safe with a caged street car or race car for that matter.

1. a good quality cage built to spec.
2. a correct helmet that is also spec
3. good harnesses that are to spec.
4. a certified seat w/ correct mounting.
5. a correct position for the harness bar, MOST IMPORTANT.

most people just cage a street car to say they have a roll cage in their car. but they normally dont have the propper precauitons to make the cage and car safe. common mistake...

its just not safe unless you plan on riding around with a helmet everywhere you go.

i dont care what anyone says.

If you get a fabricator that has experience building cages there is no problems running a cage in a street car IMO. Maybe if the cross bar is too low or something along those lines. That goes back to "has experience building cages"

not disagreeing that a cage on the street is a bad idea i mean if you have a car that you plan on making 10sec passes with a cage is a good idea... I just have read in a few diffrent articles about the cage causing more damage to the persons body due to the fact they didnt have a harness holding them in the seat properly and or no helmet

Well if you have a cage, Im assuming you would have the appropriate seats and harnesses also. If you have a FIA certified seat and a properly mounted harness, you shouldnt have a problem with hitting the cage if it was built correctly. Id rock a cage on the street as long as I had a nice race seat and harness and plan to in the near future.

I wouldnt say you needed a helmet on the street though, but I would rock one of those too!

As far as I know Autopower is a kit and Mazworks is custom fabricated. The custom will always fit better if the fabricator is any decent (mazworks is very good). Unless mazworks is producing kits now which I'd still be willing to bet fit better than autopower.
